Our Holy Redeemer Parent Council £5,000

The group would like to build an outdoor classroom within the grounds of Our Holy Redeemer Primary for use of the school and wider community. The outdoor classroom would be open during school holidays. It is hoped the provision of an outdoor classroom would encourage children to engage and play in a safe environment.

The group would like to offset the price of over 60’s playing golf to encourage more senior citizens to be active in their community and combat social isolation. To purchase a laptop and printer so that the group can print fixtures, score cards and programmes for members

To support young people to fully complete all sections the Duke of Edinburgh award. This involves volunteering, physical, skill and expedition elements. The group requires funding to purchase equipment for this, so that cadets can achieve their award to a high standard.

To employ a member of staff to oversee current services and the introduction of the Baby Bank and Fuel Bank. The Charity is mainly run by volunteers, a temporary Project Co-ordinator would be appointed to manage new projects and current projects, co-ordinate volunteers, and general management and co-orindation of the service and training. This would also increase participation throughout the local authority area.

The group would like to set up a satellite programme in the Dumbarton area. This would include sourcing a venue  to host the club and working with partners to offer  taster sessions to local schools. There would also be volunteer opportunities for locals.

To continue the upgrading of the Rugby teams facilities, which has been ongoing for a number of years. The funding will be used to install a kitchen, so that the home team can provide hot food and hospitality to visiting clubs. This will help the group build friendships with other teams.

To improve the group by purchasing a club kit, strip, bag and training jacket for every member. This will make the members feel part of a group where they feel safe and secure. Members have disabilities ranging from autism, down syndrome and brain injuries.  To have a tournament with another disability group within the area and also a study project to visit Stirling Castle.
